Not only is this woman a MARVELOUS, FANTASTICALLY impressive dancer, but LOOK WHAT SHE DOES W/HER TUMMY, starting at around 2:30! O.O  … *floored*  And that -on top- of already being a vibrant, magnetic, energetic and lovely dancer.  O.O  *shakes head*  I can’t.  I just can’t!  *falls over again*

And lastly, (because there are scary video games too ;)), we have a little bit of SILENT HILL for your final Geek Friday video game fix. XD   ..And man.. does she do the horrifically-burnt-from-hell nurse-monster well!! O.O  She has got those creepy, stalky, jutty movements DOWN, and although I might have liked to see a little bit more bellydance in this routine, I bet the folks in the front row of this audience were freaked right the hell OUT!  *lol* (Especially if they’d never seen the game- or heck, even maybe more if they had! :D)  

Loving the scare-factor of this.  And no joke, there are other parts of the soundtrack that would also go really well w/bellydance!  (Well.. especially UBER-spooky, mega-horror-inspired bellydance. ;D)  Just think of this come your next Hallowe’en hafla.  Silent Hill has some AWESOME belly potential! ^_^  *wrings hands wickedly*

But wait.. oh!  Look who it is!  Could that be the same @Kamrah that’s here on Tumblr..?  Ooooh, I think it may be!  Squee!  Now, give the girl some lurv, ‘cause she even gave ME the creeps, and I am a HUGE horror nut. ^_^  *applauds*

Arright peeps, you asked for it, so you’ve got it!  Here’s our first Geek Friday video- taken from your requests.. for video games!  (We did this theme only a few weeks ago, but I’ve been spelunking for new ones, so we don’t get all repetitive up in here. ;))  Meet Link and Zelda, ballet and baladi style! ;D  First Link rocks it out with a -beautiful- ballet and breakbeat solo, and then, ‘bout halfway in, Zelda comes along to really rock the bellydance. ^_^  I hope y’all enjoy, and happy Geek Friday! ♥♥

-And a total sweetheart, too.  I got to talk with her and Bex a bit a while back at Raven’s Night in NVA, and she’s just an awesome, grounded, kick-butt person.  I’d love to take a workshop or sommat w/her someday. ^_^

And speaking of swords, WOW.. what a star!!  Such a beautiful dancer, w/adynamic and well-put-together routine, and just overall.. WOW! ^_^  Plus, that has GOT to be one of the best ways I have -ever- seen somebody put down a sword. O.O  SO great!  Lilililililili-yiiii-IP!!

FEE-URSSE!!  This woman must have a secret spine sheath like the Immortals do in “Highlander!”  *lol*  And look at those shapes she makes, alongside all those wicked poses!!  O.O  YES!!  *cheers*

I found this at the bottom of a page I was perusing (again- as it’s in my Pinterest after being recommended by a former teacher), ‘cause I’ve heard the Hanwei sword from Kult of Athena is sharpenable, and potentially battle-ready.  I dunno why, but I like that very, very much. ^_^  ..I guess I just figger if you’re gonna have a sword, you’ve gotta have a SWORD, you know what I mean?  

Of course, sharp things around kids or in confined spaces, and in various venues is not recommended, but in the right setting..?  YES.  I like the idea of having a sword that bites.  It teaches the dancer to respect the blade for what it is- a weapon, and I think that once that relationship is there, it comes through in the dance.  You’re not just dancing w/a shiny, pretty thing that might as well be a cane.  You are dancing w/living steel, and that shows in how you move with it on and off stage. :)  It changes the relationship you have with a thing.. do you know what I mean?  

Plus, treating all your swords like they bite (whether they do or not) trains you for the someday possibility of owning something like these.  That way it’s less of a transition when you get a battle-ready sword.  And from there, it’s all just care, attention, time, training, and maintenance. ^_^  (And of course, for those of us who practice such things, meditation. :))  

Now, I wonder if there are any other balance-able, battle ready swords out there..? :D

Today, our first Geek Friday post is a real doozy!  Meet Rose Lee, who presents an ADORABLE transformation here, with one -very- meaningful moral (that I think LOTS of people here will resonate with ;)). ^_^  Plus, this is one super fun performance, with LOTS of energy, personality, and oomph! ^_^

(And from what I can tell, this was 2 years ago- which means- she’s probably -leagues- better these days! o.O  I wonder what she’s up to now..?  No doubt, it’s gonna be ROCKIN’. ^_^)

Last but not least, we have Amira, with a combination that I’m guessing many of us Star Wars fans and bellydancers have pondered- at least once or twice. ^_^  Her Leia is pretty spot-on as far as I can tell, and it is WONDERFUL to see an actual bellydancer do this idea justice.  I’ve no doubt that folks have tried this before (given how bellydance-friendly the Slave Leia costume looks), so it’s great to know that at least one woman out there is doing it up well. ^_^  Oh, how I’d love to do my own version, someday! :D
