Oh! And speaking of myooziks, has anyone taken a listen to either of my new, revived li’l podcast..? If so, lemme know whatcha think! ^_^
You can find ep. 1 here,
and episode 2 here,
or, if you prefer, you can also snag it on iTunes, here. ^_^
(But no matter where you get it, the show is always, entirely, FREE. ^_^)
It’s all about, by and for bellydance & bellydancers, so I hope the community enjoys it. ^_^ (And next up, I’ll be doing a show about the more unusual types of music dancers groove to, from Southern swang to gothy, and classical to maybe even a li’l dubstep. ;D) ♥♥♥

This mob looks SO GREAT! Love their energy, love their awesome hair, and love all the stuff they did BEFORE the Mob dance. ^_^ I had no -idea- there were so many bellydancers in Las Vegas! What a cool lookin’ crew! Makes me wanna go out to Vegas just for the bellydancing! ^_^
Love the ATS, love the spirit, and love that there are multiple fluffy dancers in this crowd, too. Y’all look AWESOME, and I hope the audience adored you, too! ^_^

Next, to REALLY get your geek in gear, we’ve got a mix of dance styles featuring some truly fun bellydance. ^_^ Don’t expect traditional belly-fare though; these girls rock it in hip-packs, side ponytails and taped-together glasses! :D You GO, ladies!! ♥

So, you ready for GEEK FRIDAY? ’Cause y’all KNOW I am! ^_^
This first GeekFriday video is so fierce I just -had- to post it. I freakin’ love the dancing and the personality and sense of humor in this, and they do it all really, really well! ^_^ Arisia’s bellydance show ROCKED the one time I got to see it, and clearly, that’s a continuing phenomenon. ^_^ I hope y’all dig this too, and if you’re ever up in the Boston area in time to catch an Arisia (a convention up in the Northwest), I highly suggest you check it out, ‘cause the people are -awesome,- and their costume & bellydance shows are simply faboo! (Shout-out to all my Arisian bellydancers and con-goers! I hope to be amongst you again soon! ♥ ♥ ♥)

Wooooooow!!!! I’ve known for many moons that this song was great for bellydance, but I’d -never- seen the video.. and now that I have.. I am just BLOWN AWAY!!! There are moments in this where the dancers give me CHILLS. (Like, a few parts in the beginning, and oh.. the whole second HALF of the piece, where the Maestra dances! O.O) And here I was, just coming to share it w/you because it suddenly popped into my head and wouldn’t leave, so I thought I’d pass it on, and hope that it inspired some of you to bellydance to it too. Now I’m like “DEWD! Not only do I need to take more ATS (which is -totally- inspired by Flamenco in many ways), but I need to take Flamenco, too!! -Now w/o a doubt- more than ever!!”
I’ve loved the look and feel of Flamenco dancing for as far back as I can remember, and always wanted to learn.. but this.. this totally galvanizes me. Oh, the power and the ferocity of the PASSION in that dance!! And then.. to be able to take bits of that and infuse it into bellydance??? *shakes head, in awe* —Love love love!!—
*swoons*

If you’ve ever wondered, Mr. Valizan (the gent in yellow from the last video I posted) explains it -beautifully- here. (And while you’re there, you should check out the rest of his site too! :D)
Being visually impaired, I initially wrote off ATS & ITS (both cue-based styles) as being viable dance options for me, because I figured there’d be no way I could follow along. (Since I’ve never taken it, I’ve no idea how subtle the cueing systems may be.) But the more I hear and see and learn about this style, the more I wanna give it a try. ^_^
And why not..? Even if I find it’s not for me, what a great learning experience! And it’s -so- beautiful! Who knows, I could be just fine- and BOOM, a new dance form to learn & enjoy! :D
So.. anyone up for teaching a nearsighted-but-eager beginner student..? I have other BD experience, but never even a drop of ATS- but I’m willing to give it a bigtime go! B-D

Cues & Tattoos 2013 - Sons of Trimurti
Serpent Muse Showcase 3/30/13
There is so much fantabulousness in this (and in so many layers) I can hardly process. Seriously.. there are moments in this video where I got honest-to-God/dess chills. (Especially the face-to-face, “duel/duet” sections. -And the part where the zills start up..?? *shivers* GUH!! XD) SO- MUCH- FIERCE, gentlemen!! SO MUCH FIERCE!!! *applauds and tries to invisi-zill along delightedly* Plus I love the way they let each member shine!! My favorite is the tall man in the yellow, because of his flair, his intensity, and his awesome energy. ^_^ (As well as his showmanship, and how cheeky he gets! :D) But every single ONE of them is awesome. Love the ‘stumes, love the moves, love the choreo, love the smiles, love the vibe, love the music- and love their spirit!! —-♥—-
Gentlemen, I know you can do it y’own damned selves, but for what it’s worth, I would happily tote your bellydance bags around- ANYTIME. ^_^ (And for those who don’t get the reference; that’s something lots of kind, generous gents often end up doing for us ladydancers- ‘cause we bellydancers tend to carry a TON to our shows. ;) Skirts and props and makeup and and and and—- it all gets HEVEH!! So men can frequently be seen prior to engagements helping tote giant bags and suitcases of belly-goodness. :))
Acgh.. Y’ALL KICK SUCH BUTT!!!
Lilililililili-yiiiiiIIIIP!!
