Not only is this woman a MARVELOUS, FANTASTICALLY impressive dancer, but LOOK WHAT SHE DOES W/HER TUMMY, starting at around 2:30! O.O … *floored* And that -on top- of already being a vibrant, magnetic, energetic and lovely dancer. O.O *shakes head* I can’t. I just can’t! *falls over again*

I freakin’ love this. Not only does it look great for bellydance, but I’m also a HUGE old-school Changeling fan, so ths tutorial overall makes me very, very happy. ^_^ This could work for a show, for a fantasy-themed event (for example, in the game, Eshu are a type of faerie, which might inspire one to wear this at a ren. faire, a faerie festival, or other fantasy-themed gather), or heck, for any ol’ thang! ^_^ Plus, I love that she uses cheapie makeup, too! *beams* (Po’ girl no-budget win! :D)

A’ight, next up we’ve got a -lovely- routine by Savannah Demers. And not only is this video-game inspired (she’s rockin’ it to the Chrono Cross theme), but she’s a fellow fluffy dancer as well! I’m so glad I get to combine both an aspect of what this whole blog is about, w/my Geek Friday theme. ^_^ Woohoo! Plus, Ms. Savannah -srsly- rocks it out. She’s an amazing dancer who -always- looks impeccable, so dancers of -all- sizes, take note! ^_^

Music Requests..?

Oh yeah- but before I go, would you like a preview of what someone might get, once they win this li’l blog’s latest contest..?
I recently realized that I had next to -no- brown-skinned dancers in my art portfolio (aside from a few photographs, and one drawing, where she appears amidst a troupe- which is, imho SO nowhere near enough). So it seemed -high time- to make one, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to get started. :) There’s more to ‘er than what you see here, and she’s not quiiite done yet, but she’s well on her way, and I hope you like. :)
(For those w/screen readers, or others who just want a description; she’s got big, almond eyes, a smiling, oval face, permed hair in front, and natural hair accented w/one long, thick braid in the back. She’s wearing a halter-style coin bra top, and a hair adornment w/dangly bits that extend from behind her ear to a large rose hair clip, nestled in the back. It’s all in black & white, w/the original being on 8.5 x 11” paper, and was done in graphite/mechanical pencil. :) ♥)
The winner of the contest will get the first print of this little lady, and the deadline is whenever I wake up today/tomorrow/Sat. (i.e., June 1st; so get your entries in soon, if you wanna win a free copy). :) All it takes is an Ask/PM w/a pro and a con about this blog, and you’re in. ^_^

"Raqs Nerdy" Tees by Asharah
Next up, we’ve got a little geeky bellydance merch, courtesy of a formerly local bellydancer; the lovely @Asharah! I met and saw her perform various times when we both lived in the DC area, and it turns out she’s pretty awesomely geeky too! :D Want proof? Check out these -SUPER cute- tops that she created; which read “Raqs Nerdy” in Arabic! XD
Sadly, she’s moved away to the left coast, but I love keeping up w/her work, which is how I found these. ^_^ (And unfortunately they only come in sizes up to 1x atm, but since she’s just starting out w/their production, I imagine that if she gets enough demand for shirts in fluffier dancers’ sizes, she’ll be happy to work her way up to ‘em in future productions. ^_^) I think these would be ADORABLE at practices and workshops, don’t you? What a great way to show off your bellydancing nerdiness in style! :D
