Hey peoples!
Have y’all ever noticed how some dancers’ hair is just.. FA-LAW-LESS..? Like satiny sheets of shiny gorgeousness that NEVER looks stringy, NEVER looks frazzled, and somehow allllways seems to fall back into place, even after they’ve been whipping their heads around and holding it up off n’ on for ages n’ ages..? Well, maybe it’s just me, but if you have too, I wonder, are there any belly-goddesses out there w/Flawless n’ Fabulous Stage Hair tips..? Do y’all use anything specific? Cut it a certain way? What products to you like, etc..?
That Sharzad video reminded me of this question that I’ve been pondering for a while now, ‘cause her hair was amazing. Zoe Jakes started me off w/wondering about this, ‘cause she would DEFINITELY be my top bellydance hair goddess. My hair is long but fine, and I would LOVE to have just sheeeeets of full, silky hair like hers, that looks healthy and amazing even when it grows down to my knees (which I’m genuinely shooting for, in terms of length). ^_^ How ‘bout you? Is there someone in your constellation of belly-stars who you think has incredible, flaw-free tresses? Do tell! ^_^

O. My. Dear. Heavens…!!! O.O
Not only is this woman a MARVELOUS, FANTASTICALLY impressive dancer, but LOOK WHAT SHE DOES W/HER TUMMY, starting at around 2:30! O.O … *floored* And that -on top- of already being a vibrant, magnetic, energetic and lovely dancer. O.O *shakes head* I can’t. I just can’t! *falls over again*

Hiya!
Hair falls are just another kind of hair extension/accessory, that’ve been used for a while now by Fusion dancers as part of their costumes. They can be found in almost any material, texture or color, and can be a great way for dancers to further express themselves on stage. :) You can make ‘em out of yarn, synthetic hair, cloth, ribbon, tubing and other materials (for example, “cyber locks”). :) Plus they can be made to blend in w/hair, to totally stand out, or even possess different textures, like curly or wavy. :)
For example, here are a few pics w/me wearin’ ‘em, and a few videos of others doin’ the same:

W/more of me here, here, and here. :) I like ‘em ‘cause they allow me to have longer “hair’ than I have, while allowing for HUGE pops of color and texture, while I wait for my true tresses to reach past mah bum. :D (And then I still might wear ‘em, ‘cause they’re FUN! ^_^)
And for the videos; here’s Taschen dancing w/them, Yasaman Vrd’dhi wearing them, and among others, Amy Danielson wears them as well; buuut atm I can’t find any videos w/her in ‘em. *lols n’ shakes head* But you can also check out the Photos section from the company Diva Dreads. (They do a different kind of fall, but many of their images beauuutifully illustrate bellydancers wearing them, like w/the awesome Tempest, here. :))
I hope that helps, and mehopes you dig!

Oh! And speaking of myooziks, has anyone taken a listen to either of my new, revived li’l podcast..? If so, lemme know whatcha think! ^_^
You can find ep. 1 here,
and episode 2 here,
or, if you prefer, you can also snag it on iTunes, here. ^_^
(But no matter where you get it, the show is always, entirely, FREE. ^_^)
It’s all about, by and for bellydance & bellydancers, so I hope the community enjoys it. ^_^ (And next up, I’ll be doing a show about the more unusual types of music dancers groove to, from Southern swang to gothy, and classical to maybe even a li’l dubstep. ;D) ♥♥♥

Still looking for one more video game piece, but in the interim, I just found.. this! :D
Thank you Bellydance, for cheering me up today. I didn’t realize when I awoke that I still needed it (and needed it badly), but apparently, I did. And searching for all these vids, watching all these vids, has helped me MUCH. ^_^ (Plus, how can you go wrong w/dancing elves, hot bois, and a name like “Darkly Sparkly??” ^_^ I wish Id thought of that one! *lol*) Hooray for even watching and blogging about this art being able to dissipate the Foul Funk! ♥♥♥
Of course, this video also makes me wish I’d been at AotB even more this year, but eah, like Pennsic, I WILL be there someday! *lol* And this just inspires me to get my pewp in gear moar, so I can AFFORD to go to all these marvelo-wondermous places. ;)

A’ight, next up we’ve got a -lovely- routine by Savannah Demers. And not only is this video-game inspired (she’s rockin’ it to the Chrono Cross theme), but she’s a fellow fluffy dancer as well! I’m so glad I get to combine both an aspect of what this whole blog is about, w/my Geek Friday theme. ^_^ Woohoo! Plus, Ms. Savannah -srsly- rocks it out. She’s an amazing dancer who -always- looks impeccable, so dancers of -all- sizes, take note! ^_^
Hope y’all enjoy, and if YOU have anything to submit, please do! (Just PM me, or send me an Ask w/spaces in the URL, so it lets you send your message. ;) *sneakycrafty*) And don’t worry if your submission doesn’t fit today’s theme. I’m happy to showcase ANY type of geeky for our Geek Friday posts! And of course, if you’re a fluffy dancer who wants to share some of your work, please submit that, too! I’ve got the rest of today and the week available for non-geeky posts, or you can combine ‘em, like Ms. Demers has! ;D)
Looking for oonnnne last Geek Friday goodie. :)

Arright peeps, you asked for it, so you’ve got it! Here’s our first Geek Friday video- taken from your requests.. for video games! (We did this theme only a few weeks ago, but I’ve been spelunking for new ones, so we don’t get all repetitive up in here. ;)) Meet Link and Zelda, ballet and baladi style! ;D First Link rocks it out with a -beautiful- ballet and breakbeat solo, and then, ‘bout halfway in, Zelda comes along to really rock the bellydance. ^_^ I hope y’all enjoy, and happy Geek Friday! ♥♥
