Hey all.  This doesn’t deal w/bellydance, but this is an issue -tremendously- dear to my heart, so I’m spreading the word, here.  I know some of you out there are in my hometown locale, and this is important information that literally could save innocent lives.  

To those of you in NoVA, DC & MD (or heck, even in areas thereabouts), if you know -anyone- even -pondering- giving up their cat please let them know:  The Fairfax County Animal Shelter’s cat cages are -FULL.- Therefore _ANY_CAT_LEFT_THERE_WILL_BE_EUTHANIZED,_ regardless of age, temperament, color, breed, etc.  In other words; they simply cannot take in any more cats, so any cats left there will be KILLED, OUTRIGHT. No wait, time, no stay of execution, just -killed.-

Therefore, please, please let people know that if anyone in the area is considering rehoming their cat, they can contact Animal Allies, King Street Cats, or Viola Lawson (which has a recently renovated and large cat space). 

And even if you don’t know anyone w/a pet, even if you simply know someone in the NoVA/DC/MD area, please pass on the word & boost the signal. The more aware people are, hopefully the less likely it is that someone will drop a loving kitty and innocent life off at the shelter, to be needlessly euthanized.
