Ooh neat!  Belts!!!

Are you too big, too broke, too small, too crafty, or not crafty enough to be able to easily swing the “traditional” Tribal/Fusion belt?  Do you wanna make something all your own, simply and easily, without a sewing machine, and sans having to tweak this or that over and over again, after you’ve already spent a ho-ton of money on a pre-manufactured piece?  Or are you like me and burdened with being a fellow non-sewer?  (I know, totally gasp-worthy in the world of bellydance, as it seems I’m finding. ;D)  Well if so, then I may have a solution- for all of us! ^_^  

Here are 2 badass ways to make a truly unique & customizable T/F belt- that can be just about anything you want it to be. :D  (You can even make headbands, armbands, wristbands and other.. bands this way, too! :D)  See the video above for how-to #1, and the link below for how-to #2. :)

They look relatively inexpensive, essentially pretty easy, and seem to only take a little patience & time to construct.  ..Wahoo!!  I’ve already got a mini yarn stash thanks to my Tribal hair fall makings, so I plan on getting those heavy-duty straws from 7-11 for this and using the rest of that stash to make some really kickin’ dance accessories. ^_^  (The 7-11 straws being wide and sturdy, so the yarn should go through easily, w/o fear of flimsier straws bending and breaking too badly.)  Plus these can be adorned w/everything from fringe and ribbon to random doodads & jewelry bits one already has around the house, as well as any kind of pendant or adornment that a girl (or boi) could think of. :)  Got buttons or brooches just lying around unused..? Stick ‘em on!!  Hoorah for reusing and recycling- and getting some of the useless clutter out and putting it into useFUL goodies that you love!! ^_^  I’m super excited to try and make one (or two- or three ;D)- and I think I might even try 8 straws first, to make an extra-wide belt. :D
